Terminator 2

This game, .... kicks buttocks. As previously stated, this is a Lightgun game, which can be played with a USB Gamepad. Assuming the role of terminators, you are helping the meatbags to bust triple-A:s on the battlefield. Plenty of power-ups and proper graphics makes this game a solid one.

Even though the game drains more coins than a pocket with a hole in it, it still keeps up the fun (but we daresay that stage number 3 is fracking hard).

Having the governor of california telling you that you are "excellent" makes it just the better. Add on top of it that the game is true to the movie and follows the plot. For the intense gamer following the game through; you will experience future wars, time traveling, helicopter chases and the destruction of the T1000!

(Note: the rom we had bugged out and chose to commit sepuku after the destruction of sky-net)

Rom name: term2
Plenty of: endoskeletons and buttock prodding
Lacking: Will to live from John Connor in stage 3.

Score: 5 terminated triple-A:s

Giga Wing

Oh my, no wonder the enemies can afford all those bullets when every single one of them drops either a gold ship, shield, star or something else. The game features a charge up shield which comes in handy when you're surrounded by bullets with evil intentions. Bombs are also lovely because they clear the screen of any bullets and give you almost a full second to relax before you find yourself surrounded by bullets.

The scoring is suffering from inflation, we actually found ourselves having 10-11 number scores several times. There is no way to change aircraft in-game which is kinda sad, since one often wants to try the other aircrafts without having to restart the game.

Rom name: gigawing
Positive from dying: Getting two new bombs.
Negative from dying: Having to re-take your power-ups.
WTF: Scores almost as inflated as the Zimbabwe economy.

Score: 712 billions gold bricks out of 1 zillion gold bricks

Jurassic Park

Dinosaurs, dinosaurs, dinosaurs.. There's no end to them. But there was an end to the story.. or.. it didn't even start, no story what so ever. The only thing you do is go around in the tour car and shoot dinosaurs (why not wait for mother earth to kill them off).

The game lacks any other kind of weapons than the standard gun (automatic tranquilizer of some sort) which makes it booring and we found ourselves aiming at the center for almost a minute without taking a single hit. The tour car also manages 100 meter jumps and traveling on logs in underground caverns which have no reference to Jurassic Park.

T-Rex chases were cool but felt more like a coin drain due to his almost impossible to avoid attacks.

Rom name: jpark
Abundant: Cheap "Coin-draining" attacks
Lacking: Story
WTF: Velociraptors "peek a boo" attack.

Score: 2 out of 5 Triceratops with a sore behind from tour car smashes.

Space Gun (World)

Aliens, flamethrowers, grenades, iceguns and a classic machinegun. Aliens attack human space-bases for no apparent reason and you have to go around rescuing hostages. Some stages are outside the bases, and some are inside.

Gameplay is simple; you enter/exit a base, movement is rail based, so you shoot at the (grotesque) aliens and try to save humans (this is your main objective). Some hostages are cocooned and others are held by the aliens.

Powerups are fairly frequent but scarce. Often you receive one grenade shot at the time, likewise for the others.

Rom name: spacegun
Graphics: Poor
Movement: Rail
Bells and whistles: None
Wtf: The centry guns of the base are hostile?

Overall playable if you set the controls right , but not very enjoyable for long

Score: 3 of 10 cocooned humans *squishy noice*

Terminator 2 - Playable with Gamepads

So, how the frack do you get the Terminator 2 crosshairs to move nicely over the screen? Surely this is a question that has come to you some time.

  1. Enter into General -> Player Controls
    1. Set to Lightgun X Analog to None
    2. Set to Lightgun Y Analog to None
    3. Bind Lightgun X Analog Dec to your gamepad left arrow
    4. Bind Lightgun X Analog Inc to your gamepad right arrow
    5. Bind Lightgun Y Analog Dec to your gamepad up arrow
    6. Bind Lightgun Y Analog Inc to your gamepad down arrow

  2. Enter into Analog Controls
    1. Set AD Stick X Autocenter Speed to 0
    2. Set AD Stick Y Autocenter Speed to 0
    3. Adjust AD Stick X Digital Speed to your liking (often ~40)
    4. Adjust AD Stick Y Digital Speed to your liking (often ~40)
    5. Adjust AD Stick X Reverse based on game (on/off)
    6. Adjust AD Stick Y Reverse based on game (on/off)
    7. Adjust AD Stick X Sensitivity to your liking (often ~5)
    8. Adjust AD Stick Y Sensitivity to your liking (often ~5)

This is what we did to make Terminator 2 playable with the USB Gamepads, the same settings worked fine for Jurassic Park (and other Lightgun based games) as well.

Best of luck
